DSAT Tec Trimix Instructor Course

Go Tec - Explore to the Extreme

Designed for the experienced technical diving instructor, the DSAT Tec Trimix Instructor course extends the DSAT training methodology to this pinnacle of diver training.

Prerequisites:

  • Be a renewed PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer or higher
  • Be a DSAT Tec Deep Instructor or have successfully completed the DSAT Tec Deep Instructor training course including the instructor examinations.
  • Be certified as a DSAT Tec Trimix Diver or have a qualifying full Trimix certification from another organization.
  • Have a minimum of 200 logged dives, with at least 20 technical decompression dives requiring at least one stage / deco cylinder. Of these, at least 10 must have been made deeper than 40 meters / 130 feet using trimix.

  • Be a renewed PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer or higher level PADI Instructor who is a DSAT Tec Deep Instructor.
  • Be certified as a DSAT Tec Trimix Diver or have a qualifying full trimix certification from another organization.
  • Have assisted with at least one DSAT Tec Trimix Diver course. If the candidate has a qualifying certification as a trimix instructor with another organization, having taught or assisted with one of those courses meets this requirement.
  • Have a minimum of 350 logged dives, with at least 50 decompression dives deeper than 40 meters / 130 feet beyond those required for certification as a technical diver. At least 30 must be deeper than 40 meters / 130 feet using trimix as the bottom gas, with at least 10 of these deeper than 50 meters / 165 feet using trimix with less than 21 percent oxygen.
  • Have successfully completed the Tec Trimix Instructor Standards Exam and Tec Trimix Instructor Theory and Practical Application Exam.
  • Be 21 years old.

You are responsible for your own materials, equipment, lodging, fills, admissions, etc.

Equipment Note: Equipment must be configured meeting the philosophies and intent described in the DSAT Tec Deep Diver Manual and Tec Trimix Diver Manual.

Required equipment: Double cylinders (70 cf or larger each) with isolation manifold, primary & secondary regulators one with seven foot hose and one with SPG, two stage/deco cylinders each equipped with regulator and SPG, wings style BCD with harness, dive computer and backup dive computer or backup depth gauge and timer, backup deco information (computer or tables), appropriate exposure protection (drysuit users must have a separate drysuit inflation system using Argon), weight system if needed, jon line, signal tube, reel, lift bag, primary cutting device on upper body, backup cutting device, slate, compass, mask, fins, logbook.
