DSAT Tec Trimix Diver Course

The DSAT Tec Trimix Diver course is the pinnacle of open circuit technical diver training and technology. This course is intended to extend the depth range available to technical divers trained and qualified to use air, EANx and O₂ for technical decompression dives beyond 165 feet / 50 meters in open water. Under the DSAT umbrella, this course continues the solid educational philosophy presented in the DSAT Apprentice Tec and Tec Deep Diver courses. This approach encompasses an instructional progression that directly addresses the added hazards, greater demands and challenges present in technical diving, most of which become more pronounced in the depth ranges typically associated with trimix use.

2008 Schedule

Prerequisites 

• Be certified as a PADI Rescue Diver or have a qualifying certification in diver rescue and accident management from another organization. If presenting a qualifying certification, you must also provide proof of CPR and first aid training within the previous two years.
• Be 18 years old.
• Be certified as a DSAT Tec Deep Diver or have a qualifying certification in deep decompression diving using air / enriched air from another organization. If presenting a qualifying certification, you must also read the entire DSAT Tec Deep Diver Manual and complete all the knowledge reviews prior to starting this course.
• Have a minimum of 150 logged dives.
• Be certified as a EFR Secondary Care Provider (current) or other qualifying certification.
• Be certified as a DAN / PADI Oxygen First Aid Provider (current) or other qualifying certification.
• Carry current diver accident insurance covering the use of any breathing mixture and depths of at least 245'
• Have a current medical examination and approval for diving

Required Equipment    Double cylinders (70 cf or larger each) with isolation manifold, primary & secondary regulators one with seven foot hose and one with SPG, two stage/deco cylinders each equipped with regulator and SPG, wings style BCD with harness, dive computer and backup dive computer or backup depth gauge and timer, backup deco information (computer or tables), appropriate exposure protection, weight system if needed, jon line, signal tube, reel, lift bag, primary cutting device on upper body, backup cutting device, slate, compass, mask, fins, logbook.

Recommended Equipment    Laptop computer with deco software, oxygen analyzer, first aid kit, emergency oxygen.
