PADI Altitude Diver Course

Take the Master Scuba Diver Challenge

Any time you're diving at 1000 to 10,000 feet above sea level, you're altitude diving. If you want to explore the hidden world of a mountain lake, the PADI Altitude Diver Specialty course is for you. This course familiarizes you with the rules and procedures necessary for altitude diving, including how to use the Recreational Dive Planner at altitude. Including:

  • Planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of altitude diving.
  • Special Recreational Dive Planner procedures that must be followed when diving at altitudes above 1000 feet.
  • Safety stops and emergency decompression procedures.
  • Special equipment, descent lines and buoyancy control considerations.
  • Limited visibility diving and underwater navigation techniques.
  • Overview of the physical aspects of the fresh water, altitude aquatic environment.
  • Cause, signs, symptoms, and prevention of hypoxia and hypothermia while altitude diving.

Prerequisite    PADI Open Water Diver, Jr. PADI Open Water Diver (or other qualifying certification) and be at least 10 years old.

Price    $75.00 (Deduct $15.00 if you are crediting one dive from your PADI Adventure Diver or PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course)

  • PADI Specialty Diver certification which counts towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver Certification.
